If you are wondering where that title comes from...for anyone that does not know back in the day people used to say that ADIDAS was an acronym for "all day I dream of sex".

I heard that in middle school, so chances are there is no truth to it whatsoever!.

However I will now be using a new acronym...the one stated above, because ADIDAS has teamed up with, a Classic Univeristy favorite,

Starwars to make...

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – Move aside Madonna and watch out Barry White. The winner of the sexiest song of all time is -- Olivia Newton-John with "Physical," according to music publication Billboard.
Billboard has come up with a list of the 50 most popular songs about sex in time for Valentine's Day with each song given points according to its performance on the Billboard hot 100 chart from August 1958 until January this year. "Physical," released by Newton-John in 1981, topped the list after spending 10 weeks as No. 1 in the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
And while it certainly speaks to sex with lyrics such as "There's nothin' left to talk about, unless it's horizontally," the song became known as well-known as a track for aerobics classes in line with the singer's
exercise-themed video. Second in the list came Rod Stewart's 1976 song "Tonight's the Night," followed by Boyz II Men's 1994 ballad "I'll Make Love To You."
"Some songs are steamy slow-jams, some are hi-octane arena-rockers, but what they all have in common (and what got them on this list) is that the
subject matter of each song is directly related to sex, in some way," Billboard
said in a statement.
Other highlights include Rod Stewart, who made the top 10 twice with "Tonight's the Night" and "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy," and Marvin Gaye hit No. 5 with the classic "Let's Get It On."

With titles like “I Invented Sex”, “Sticky Face”, “12 Play”, “Sex Me” and “Bump and Grind”, how does Olivia Newton John’s song even get into the top 50?

These are just some of the songs that were looked up at the click of a mouse, the mainstream radio is loaded with songs about sex and vivid descriptions of sexual acts, so I find it hard believe a song from 1981 is number one on the charts for being the sexist song of all time.

I mean they use Olivia Newton John’s song “Physical” in health clubs all over the country to exercise to, so how bad can it be? Whereas they would probably feel uncomfortable playing R. Kelly’s songs at a strip club. Go figure…how times have changed.

Where have I been you ask? (IF YOU EVEN CARE)

Well it was football season, which means it was fantasy football time which means I was swallowed up in it! Not only does fantasy football take up a lot of my time, trying to keep my wife from thinking fantasy football is not more important than her takes up more time than fantasy football itself!

But never fear, Classic University is here! Back now with a vengeance! As well I am back with some CLASSIC UNIVERSITY SIZED ISSUES!!!

As the DEAN, CEO, and VALEDICTORIAN of Classic University, you well know Oldschool pumps through my veins and with each passing day I miss the Oldschool even more. NOTHING made me miss the Oldschool so much as watching the 2010 NBA DUNK CONTEST!

The 2010 NBA ALL-STAR Dunk Contest was the worst Dunk contest in the HISTORY of DUNK CONTEST…and not just the NBA, DUNK CONTEST PERIOD!

NONE of the contestants even looked like they cared, they were missing dunks, no flair, no personality, the crowd was barely cheering and NOT ONE DUNK was original!

Nate Washington, the winner, was just the lesser of the evils, he basically won because he is a small guy and looks decent while missing dunks and doing all the same crap from the last few years.

Granted, Nate has a slight amount of flair, he brought out a few Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders, before on of the Dunks, however they were just eye candy, didn’t use them as a prop, didn’t jump over them, didn’t interact with them at all, didn’t feel them up, NOTHING! Nate just let them stand there while he missed dunk after dunk and changed from one dunk to another and then had the nerve to act like he did something after making the unoriginal dunk!

Back when the NBA was great, they had the NBA’s brightest stars in the dunk contest and those stars took it serious! They worked at their dunks, they thought about what dunks they were going to do and put time and effort into the contest.

Missed dunks were few and far in between and there were no do-overs, they scored you on the miss, you didn’t get another try, there was no “dunk” clock involved, there was no young goofy looking deer in the headlights looking punks in the contest, it was the best of the best, playing for PRIDE!

Not anymore, these tall tattooed up would be janitors have no pride, they are motivated by nothing, content with just being mediocre and it shows.

There are some classes to be taught and lessons to be learned from the Star Professor of Classic University, another one of my many titles/hats worn here on campus, because these young whippersnappers stink and they don’t even know it! I blame the NBA because the NBA is too drunk with money to tell these fools about themselves.

Let them stay drunk, and with out my hard earned money, because I will not being buying any NBA tickets to any thing ALL-STAR related, anything regular season related or anything NBA related until the playoffs begin. The NBA Playoffs is the only time we get to see any real effort out of these chumps, so until then they will not get my time or money!

Ok I have to say this….The NFL game last night WAS ONE OF THE WORST GAMES EVER!!!!!!!!

I don’t know if the NFL Network production was bad or if there were 15 people in the stands, maybe it was both but it was horrible either way!

I mean this was supposed to be the premiere of the NFL Network's games for the season and they picked that horrible game and those horrible commentators.

They could have picked Cincy at Pittsburg, Dallas at Green Bay, or even Philly at San Diego and they picked a Division 3 game....It felt like I was watching a High School game or possibly a game between Laburnum State University and Colonial Heights Community College!

I would have rather watched a game between some horrible Black colleges...at least halftime would have been good!!!

My class was cancelled last night, so I was excited to get home to see my family and to get to see the early game, but I feel asleep 3 times…EARLY IN THE GAME!!!

It was like watching paint drying and grass growing at the same time!

The commentating was worse than the game!! With all the great personalities on the NFL Network why would they choose that LOSER from the Detroit Lions Fiasco! Why would anyone hire him for anything?!?

After what Matt Millen did in Detroit the only thing I would hire him for is consulting…ON WHAT NOT TO DO, either that or replacing the entire urinal cakes in my office building.

How does he keep getting jobs? He must have naked pictures of all the right people. I mean I have some naked pictures of some very important people but the only problem is that I am in the pictures too, so they don’t have quite the same impact….sigh.

This is the Enigma, the classic Battleship game turned into a simple to play (and fun) bar game. It´s played just like the usual Battleship game with one addition.

If you miss the target you drink a sip of liquo.....I mean water, and if you hit an enemy boat you opponent empties the corresponding shot glass. If you like being distracted by projections and animations while you play pool, the Obscura CueLight is for you. It uses sensors and an overhead projector to create images that follow the balls as they bang around the table.

The system itself will set you back $80,000, no pool table included. At the Esquire Ultimate Bachelor Pad, where it's currently set up, it's projecting on a $125,000 pool table. So at $205,000...Bottom line: you can't afford it.

In addition to this setup, where the balls reveal an image hidden underneath, you can also set it up to have flames track behind the balls, or water that ripples as the balls pass over it. It's a pretty awesome trick, one that works surprisingly smoothly.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – An 11-year-old boy gets high marks in storytelling after staging a hoax to cover up his bad grades. Police said the boy faked his kidnapping Friday to avoid bringing home a bad report card, saying that a man with a pistol snatched him after he left Ed White Middle School.

The boy said the man forced him into a "beat-up car" and threatened to kill him. The student said he escaped by jumping out of the car but wasn't able to grab his bookbag, which contained the report card.

He ran to his grandparents' house and later confessed to lying. His grandfather called police to apologize. Sgt. Mark Roberts said police were suspicious that the boy was able to "escape" with his band instrument, but not his bookbag. Roberts said the boy faces no charges at this time.

If this little young punk put this kind of creativity and time in to his school work, he wouldn't need to hide his report card!!!

CRESTWOOD, Mo. – A 68-year-old man who still works at the first McDonald's restaurant in Missouri has been honored for 50 years of service.

Leonard Rhomberg began his job at a McDonald's restaurant in the St. Louis suburb of Crestwood in 1959, the year after it opened. And he still works there five days a week.

KSDK-TV reports that the restaurant's owners, Patrick and Tom Hillmeyer, thanked Rhomberg on Wednesday with a cake, gifts and a St. Louis Cardinals jersey.

It is good that he worked anywhere for 50 years, but....ITS MCDONALDS!!!!

This site is called Classic University because to me, the Oldschool is the only school. As the Dean of Classic University, I just like certain things the way they used to be, and I would very much like them to go back there.

For example, the other day I was in Home Depot and I just happen to see something called “Hand Scraped Maple”. HUH?!?! Explain to me What that is please? It looked like WOOD to me!

Whatever happened to simple things like Maple wood or Cherry wood, it has to be hand scraped now?

My favorite color used to be Blue, remember that color? The color blue is like a fossil now, they have new and improved blues like, Prussian Blue, Yale Blue and Cobalt Blue, I have even seen LAKE MICHIGAN BLUE…WHAT THE WHAT!?!?!

Lake freaking Michigan Blue? Who is thinking this crap up? It’s all motivated by the love of money and the LOVE of money is ruining this world. How you say?

Next time you are in target or some other store that sells cosmetics, go by the cosmetic aisle and you will see 1.27 billion different colors divided between 3 or 4 different manufacturers. Women are being tricked into believing that diamond blue looks better on them than peacock blue, and yes those colors actually do exist. So as a result, women go and buy 12 different colors and to see which one looks best on them.

And don’t even get me started on trying to pick a color to paint a room, have you ever seen a paint color wheel? The Sherwin Williams website color wheel has over 1500 colors in it….1500!!!!!! (1561 different colors to be exact)

Now I have a public school education so please help me on this one…there are 3 primary colors right? Then you add 3 more secondary colors, and they makes 6 colors, is that correct? Yet Sherwin freakin Williams came up with over one thousand five hundred fifty four more colors?

LA CROSSE, Wis. – No doubt. The nines have it. Chuck Berendes of La Crosse said he will never forget the birthday of this third child, born Wednesday on the ninth day of the nine month in the year 2009.

Nor will Berendes and his wife, Polly, forget Henry Michael's arrival time — at 9:09 a.m. by Cesarean section at Franciscan Skemp Medical Center in La Crosse.

But they got the biggest laugh when the newborn was placed on the delivery room scale following his birth. Berendes said it was metric scale so the doctor did the math in his head, but to make sure, he had the nurse also do the conversion.

Berendes said they broke into laughter when the nurse told them Henry weighed 9 pounds, 9 ounces.

In the video below is the MAN Mike Singletary, head coach of the San Francisco 49ers, as he talks about a player, Vernon Davis, whom he sent off the field DURING a game for not being a team player.

49er’s Tight End Vernon Davis had been penalized by NFL referees for doing something boneheaded, AFTER THE PLAY WAS OVER, and then tried to defend himself to coach Singletary on the sideline. At that point Singletary had had enough and sent him to the locker room.

That act as a head coach in itself was nothing short of AWESOMETASTIC, but add to that, the fact that Vernon Davis was a first round top 10 pick in the NFL 2006 draft and has done pretty much NOTHING ever since entering the league, so to send him off the field for being a jerk was just pure CLASSIC UNIVERSITY genius by itself.

However the beloved Mike Singletary did not stop there…noooo, he showed even more CLASSIC UNIVERSITY skills by having THIS press conference after the game.

I personally loved what he had to say, I hate these cry baby players who have never done ANYTHING but for some reason think people should cater to them.

I hate players who have done A LOT and think people should cater to them. You think because you can run fast and have muscles that makes you a better man? Real men are men like MIKE SINGLETARY, men with honor, work ethic and heart, so if you want some respect, try earning it.

The Berlin Associated Press reported....

The IAAF has asked the South African athletics federation to conduct a gender verification test on 800-meter runner Caster Semenya amid concerns she does not meet the requirements to compete as a woman. Caster Semenya.

The 18-year-old Semenya won the 800 final on Wednesday at the world championships in a world leading 1 minute, 55.45 seconds, beating defending
champion Janeth Jepkosgei by a massive 2.45 seconds. Jennifer Meadows of Britain took bronze. Olympic champion Pamela Jelimo was eliminated in qualifying.

The IAAF requested the gender test about three weeks ago, after Semenya
burst onto the scene by slicing her personal bests in the 800 and 1,500 by huge
margins.
IAAF spokesman Nick Davies stressed that "it's a medical issue, not
an issue of cheating." He said the "extremely complex, difficult" test has
been started but that the results were not expected for weeks.

The verification test requires a physical medical evaluation, and includes reports from a gynecologist, endocrinologist, psychologist, an internal medicine specialist and an expert on gender.

"So we're talking about reports that are very long, very time consuming," Davies said. South Africa team manager Phiwe Mlangeni-Tsholetsane would not confirm or deny that Semenya was having a gender test, but said "there was no cheating on our part." "We entered Caster as a woman and we want to keep it that way," Mlangeni-Tsholetsane said. " Our conscience is clear in terms of Caster. We have no reservations at all about that."

Although medals will be awarded for the 800, the race remains under a cloud
until the investigation is closed, and Semenya could be stripped of the gold
depending on the test results, IAAF general secretary Pierre Weiss said.

"If at the end of the investigation it is proven that the athlete is not female, we will withdraw the medal," Weiss said. "But today there is no proof and the benefit of doubt must always be in favor of the athlete."

Semenya qualified for Wednesday's final with a top time of 1 minute, 58.64 seconds, and posted the world's top time this year of 1:56.72 three weeks ago at the African junior championships in Bambous, Mauritius.

The Classic University Scholarship Goes To....

In a world full of players like Brandon Marshall, Terrell Owens, Adam Pacman Jones and recently sentenced Plaxico Burress, it feel good to know there are some good people out there who care more about the team than about than themselves.

Let me introduce you to one, meet Mississippi State hoops center Jarvis Varnado, who has led the nation in blocks for two years straight, and propelled the Bulldogs to an SEC title and NCAA Tournament appearance last season.

That may seem like a big deal but suddenly he is playing as a walk-on. What happened to his scholarship?

Here is where Jarvis just earned himself a Classic University Scholarship.

With incoming players John Riek and Renardo Sidney both signed by the Bulldogs for this coming season, coach Rick Stansbury found himself one scholarship player over the NCAA limit of 13.

So Varnado put his name in the NBA draft, thus giving up his scholarship, with the understanding that he could then take out a loan to pay for his senior year of school.

Unbelievable…..Jarvis went into debt so that another player could attend college, and the Bulldogs could get that much stronger.

Varnado tested the NBA Draft waters before withdrawing in May. Now, he’s like quite a few of his classmates — indebted to student loans for the $5,151 that it costs for a full-time undergraduate student per year at Mississippi State.
Bracky Brett, MSU’s associate athletic director for compliance, said the arrangement is OK by NCAA rules and is no different than when any of State’s
other walk-ons incur student loan debt to pay their way through school.
If Sidney and/or Riek are not cleared, Varnado could be placed back on State’s
scholarship roll.
But for now, Varnado, who led the nation in blocked shots
the last couple of years, appears to be the leading candidate for the title of
nation’s best non-scholarship player.

But with a massive list of game-enhancing tweaks on offer -- many of which amount to little more than typical game cheats -- does the upcoming blockbuster Madden NFL 10 charge too much for too little?

Money, Money, Money, Money...Money.
Gaming blog Joystiq points out some of the game's quirkier downloadable items, which include everything from simple one-time enhancements (letting a severely injured player fully recover, giving all players a 10% stat boost for one play) to the more robust "Elite Status" download. For $5, Elite Status will let players "access exclusive VIP lobbies, leaderboards and play the all new Elite Gametype," which is essentially a tougher difficulty setting.

In other words, you'll pay $60 for the game, then an additional $5 if you want to enjoy the sum of its features.

That kind of nickel-and-diming has in the past proven irksome. Shortly after releasing their award-winning role-playing game The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, publisher Bethesda unveiled their first piece of downloadable content: armor for a character's horse. Though priced at a meager $2.50, gamers were outraged at what was considered at the time to be an act of gouging them for extra cash for content that should have been in the game from the outset. Similar complaints were aimed toward game maker Capcom over a downloadable extra mode in their hit game Resident Evil 5, as well as EA for a $5 "unlock everything" cheat code in the skateboarding sim Skate 2.

An obese inmate in Texas has been charged after officials learned he had a gun hidden under flabs of his own flesh.

Twenty-five-year-old George Vera was charged with possession of a firearm in a correctional facility after he told a guard at the Harris County Jail about the unloaded 9mm pistol. The Houston Chronicle reported Thursday that Vera was originally arrested on charges of selling illegal copies of compact discs.

The 500-pound man was searched during his arrest and again at a city jail and the county jail, but officers never found the weapon in his rolls of skin. Vera admitted having the gun during a shower break at the county jail.

I was going to say something about this but, I really don't need to...he was able to get a gun in to a prison by hiding it in his rolls of fat. END OF STORY!!!

I take that back....I do have something say...first off he told a prison guard he did it, then he didn't even bring bullets under all that fat. What an idiot!! First you tell on yourself and keep the good for nothing evidence.

You could have sold that gun for tons of cigarettes and then use those cigarettes to get some money and use the money to buy some food from the prison commissary to support his habit...EATING HABIT!!! DUMMY!!

French police called off their search for a woman who threw herself in front of a speeding train when they found that she had dragged herself home and gone to bed, a court source told Reuters Wednesday.

The 58-year-old, who suffered from depression, jumped in front of the train Tuesday as it sped through the station at Herrlisheim near Strasbourg at around 150 km per hour, prompting the driver to alert the police.

Discovering only a small blood stain on the train and the platform, police called in helicopters to find the woman who they presumed had been sent flying by the collision, public prosecutor Laurent Guy said Wednesday.

But the search was called off when the woman's partner, returning from a night shift, found her lying in bed with a broken arm and other injuries and rang the emergency services.
The woman, who had attempted suicide in the past, was subsequently hospitalized.

The sequel to last summer's blockbuster, which began shooting three weeks ago and opens May 7, 2010, takes place six months after Stark revealed his identity as Iron Man, says director Jon Favreau. And the development is playing out with unexpected results. "How many superheroes are open about their true identities?" he asks. "We wanted to play with that idea. But it obviously has consequences — in his relationships, on the team. There are a lot of areas we can explore."

He hopes to have all other Iron Man 2 details locked down — even though he's sending dispatches via Twitter from the set. "It's never easy with summer movies, but we're trying to keep as much a surprise as possible," he says.

That means no new dirt on replacing Terrence Howard with Don Cheadle, or how the crime-fighting team S.H.I.E.L.D. will ultimately come together. Or how he'll work in new characters. A Denver police officer has been charged with felony menacing for allegedly brandishing his gun at a McDonald's restaurant after getting tired of waiting for his food. Derrick Curtis, 29, Saunders also face charges of prohibited use of a weapon, reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct.

An employee at the Aurora restaurant told investigators that two Denver police officers were waiting for their food at the drive-through window May 21 when one grew impatient and pulled his gun.

No one was injured.

Denver police spokesman Sonny Jackson told The Denver Post that Saunders had been suspended with pay and would be put on unpaid leave once the department is formally notified of the charges.

Uttering the words "Yo Quiero Taco Bell," Gidget, a female dog, played a male dog in the commercials.

First things first, how in the world do they know the dog had a stroke?

Lastly, Michael Vick was recently let off of house arrest and released from FBI custody, the next day, Gidget, the 15-year-old Taco Bell dog died….coincidence?

When John Madden attached his name to a football video game in 1989, no one could have seen its extreme popularity coming. The 2010 version of the game will be released August 14, and hordes of fans will be in line at midnight openings of video game stores around the country.
Apparently, Seattle Seahawks wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh will not be among them.

Houshmandzadeh did an interview with Colin Cowherd of ESPN Radio, and told the host he would be boycotting the latest version of the
game. He said he's not happy with his rating.

"I understand I averaged 10 yards a
catch, but it's the offense, not me. I'm not playing Madden no more until they get my rating right. ... I used to be the best in the world at Madden. I'm going to miss not playing it, but until they do me right, I'm not playing it any more."

You may want to know what this awful rating is for Houshmandzadeh. As Mike Sando notes, it's 91. The game rates him as the sixth-best receiver in the NFC.
Unless you're a direct relative of Houshmandzadeh's, it's hard to argue with any of the five (cover boy Larry Fitzgerald, Steve Smith, Anquan Boldin, Roddy White, and Calvin Johnson) rated ahead of Houshmandzadeh. All of this is probably a good thing for Seattle.

After all, Houshmandzadeh is portraying himself as a guy with a lot to prove, and the
sizable chip on his shoulder now includes this video game flap. Whether he actually buys the game, rents the game, or plays the game at a buddy's house is irrelevant. Some guys need the extra psychological boost that comes from feeling disrespected. If Houshmandzadeh is that kind of player, these latest comments will only help him as he starts his career anew as a number one receiver for the first time.

Yeah it is funny but that is a great question. The Fork is a awesome invention, you can eat almost anything with them, and anything you cannot get with a fork we have the almighty Spoon, so what is the deal?

You can’t eat soup with chopsticks, you can’t cut your meat with chopsticks, I can barely pick up sushi with chopsticks, however chopsticks are quite unproblematic if you like stabbing yourself in the eye. Just ask me.

Plus a fork is so versatile, you can use a few fingers to hold a fork, just like chopsticks or you can make a fist and shove the fork right into the side of your fist and eat like a child if you wish. I love it either way.

Speaking of which, what if you have a baby and you are feeding your baby let's say.....baby-food, do you use chopsticks? What does the baby use to eat his food once he is old enough to try? I know some very intelligent and athletic adults that cannot handle chopsticks, so what is baby supposed to do?

Authorities say former NFL star Steve McNair had a blood-alcohol level twice Tennessee’s legal limit for driving when his girlfriend shot him to death.
Tennessee Assistant Medical Examiner Feng Li said Monday that a toxicology report showed a trace amount of marijuana in the body of Sahel Kazemi. Police say the 20-year-old Kazemi shot McNair July 4 in a Nashville condo before killing herself.

Police say McNair was likely asleep when he was shot twice in the head and twice in the chest. Li said there was no way to tell from the report how long before McNair’s death he had been drinking. Kazemi was arrested for drunken driving in Nashville two days before the shooting. Police video of the arrest showed her telling the officer
that she was high.

The man in the tight black suit does it again!!! Michael “THE PLAYMAKER” Irvin came up with another winner…4th and LONG, the new reality show on Spike TV. Last Night the new hit show came to a head and we now have a winner, Jesse Holley.

4th and LONG is the reality show where the former superstar and Superbowl winner Michael Irvin, takes 12 former NFL prospects that did not make it to the NFL for different reasons and give them another chance to be the 80th player on the Dallas Cowboys preseason roster.

Holley, who played four years at North Carolina before brief stints with the Cincinnati Bengals and British Columbia Lions of the Canadian Football League, was working for a security monitoring company and selling cellphones. At 25, he believed his football career was over.

On Monday night, Holley, a wide receiver who was a member of the Tar Heels'
2005 national championship basketball team, was anointed the winner of Michael
Irvin's 4th and Long on Spike TV. His prize is the 80th and final roster spot when the Cowboys report to training camp in San Antonio on July 28. Holley is listed as 6-3, 215 pounds with 4.5-second speed in the 40-yard dash.
Irvin said that in addition to his physical abilities, Holley is one of the quickest learners he has seen. "He'd pick up things immediately," Irvin said. "If I am a coach and I see him implement something right away, I know I have a player."
Just before Irvin's verdict, Jones told the three finalists, "If one of you is the
ballplayer that Michael and Joe and Bill say, you've got a chance be here. Clear

I personally watched every episode and with the exception of Michael Irvin’s extremely tight black attire, it was an excellent show. The show was ALL ABOUT football and presenting a very good football player to the Dallas Cowboys training camp, a team that Irvin CLEARLY LOVES!

In my humble opinion that is just what THE PLAYMAKER did, he gave the Cowboys Jesse Holley, former Tarheel standout, and he will make that team and I for one cannot wait to see him play with that star on his helmet.

Maxwell’s new album BLACKsummers'night was released on July 7th 2009 and it is a work of musical art, that will produce numbers.

BLACKsummers'night is full of emotions that only great music can give you. I feel almost as though I am able to feel what he was feeling when these songs were created.

The music and the lyrics stay with you. On the song “FIST FULL OF TEARS” Maxwell says…

This unbelievable masterpiece will take you back to the old school (CLASSIC UNIVERSITY) days of Marvin Gaye, The O'Jays, The Whispers, Luther Vandross, and The Commodores.

When a man is able to comeback and make music like this after close to a decade of down time, in the mind of Classic University, Maxwell is now in the same category with legends like Stevie Wonder and Prince. Yes I said it. I know he has not made nearly as much music as they have but he has been extremely consistent and the quality as has been as high as it gets each and every time.

I never thought I would be saying this but Maxwell is even more musical than he has ever been on this album. Feels strange saying this but Maxwell has grown, matured if you will, as an artist and we the listeners have benefitted tremendously. I read that Maxwell used a 10-piece band live in the studio and it is very obvious in the sound and vibe that the chemistry was through the roof.

This process should be a shot of espresso to a music industry that needs to WAKE UP!!! We need more 10 piece live bands in the studio! That kind of sound CANNOT be duplicated by computers.

The only problem I have with the masterpiece is that it is not long enough. There are only 9 songs and I am already hungry for the next of the BLACKSUMMERS' NIGHT trilogy. Honestly, I can talk about this album forever, but in closing, here is a little more information on the BLACKSUMMERS' NIGHT trilogy.

The trilogy's subsequent chapters, blackSUMMERS' night and blacksummers' NIGHT, are slated for release in 2010 and 2011 respectively. This 2009 album reunites Maxwell with long-time collaborator Hod David, who serves as co-producer and co-writer of the album. Striving for an emotional authenticity and real world sound for the album, Maxwell and Hod recorded the entire album live in the studio with an A-list ensemble of elegantly sympathetic musicians.

I am not going to talk about a bunch record sales and stats...that will be all over the television for the next few weeks, I will talk about what Michael Jackson meant to me and only me.

I have to admit, I was oblivious or in denial in a way yesterday. Just went on about my life like it was any other day but once the songs started pouring in on the radio and all the callers bringing up moments and memories, it all just took me back.

Not only were there too many hits to number, but those hit songs took me back to a time when every thing was good, all the family was here and at that time in my life it just felt so innocent. Michael Jackson is the G.O.A.T (Greatest of All Time) and there will never be another to do it as big as or better than him. NO OTHER ARTIST EVER SHUT DOWN PRIME TIME TV TO PREMIER A VIDEO…BEFORE OR AFTER MJ!!!

I remember the whole family getting together to watch the big floor model TV as MJ premiered “Thriller” and then a few years later, he premiered “Bad”. Both of them came on at like 8pm at night on a regular (NON-CABLE) station!!!!!!!! WHO DOES THAT?

We were excited like it was the Superbowl about to come on. I remember watching Motown 25 after MJ sent his raggedy brothers off the stage and proceeded to make history by performing Billie Jean and doing the Moonwalk…..OMG!!

Ok, I have been holding this in, because as a huge Transformer fan I really hate to say this….but the movie had waaaaaay too much cursing, (glad I didn’t take my 3 year old) too much robot humping, too many big fake red funny looking lips, and it was just plain not good!

Wait a minute, let me explain, lets start with the foundation, the story, it was all over the place, very inconsistent, and frankly down right brainless. I don’t know about you but frankly I DON’T NOT CARE WHAT SAM WITWICKY’S MOTHER HAS TO SAY OR DO!!!!

I want to see Optimus Prime and Megatron getting it in!

I am very upset at how they punked Megatron, they made him this awesome hardcore beast in the first one and now he is transforming a running from tanks and guns and cant even catch some dumb little boy who is RUNNING on foot?!?!?! Are you serious? No really...are you really serious?

Not to mention they made him bow down to some other stupid robot the NO TRANSFORMER FAN HAS EVER HEARD OF CALLED “THE FALLEN”. What kind of name is that? IT IS AN ADVANCED ALIEN ROBOT FOR GOODNESS SAKES!!!!!

Speaking of robots, they made all the robots look totally unintelligent. After 2 years are we supposed to believe they have not fixed Bumblebee’s voice? Are we to believe they do nothing but transform and sit in a garage and wait for humans to say lets go? Transformers are supposed to be an advanced alien race and all they did was shoot at stuff and drive those babbling, idiotic characters around all day, with no input besides an occasional vulgar curse word. Not to mention, the way they did those ugly potty mouth twin robots was down right racist to be real honest.

I am highly disappointed; I cannot believe Spielberg let Mike Bay destroy a perfectly good franchise. This director is all about big sets and explosions, when the average fan is about substance and quality and this movie had none of that. If I see Michael Bay in the Mall, he better run.

I apologize to anyone who enjoyed the movie but please know that I LOVE the Transformers and I have some of the FIRST series of toys, none of this new fangled junk. I have been a huge fan since Megatron was a GUN and Soundwave was a tape recorder…YES I SAID TAPE!!! Not CD or IPod…TAPE!!!!!!

So PLEASE believe me when I tell you, I did not want to have to say all of this, I am very hurt right now. This is the same feeling I get when have to spank my child, by saying all this bad stuff about something I hold so dear!

The Associated Press is reporting….

The Cleveland Cavaliers are close to acquiring center Shaquille O’Neal in a trade that would pair him with MVP LeBron James, multiple people with knowledge of the deal told The Associated Press early Thursday.

The Cavs and Phoenix Suns have reached an agreement in principle on the deal, which gives Cleveland two of the league’s biggest superstars.

O’Neal will join Cleveland in exchange for center Ben Wallace, guard Sasha Pavlovic, a second-round draft pick (No. 46 overall in Thursday’s draft) and cash, said the two people who spoke on condition of anonymity because the league still must approve the deal.
What an awesome trade…IF IT THIS WAS THE YEAR 2001!!

Granted the Cavs are getting Shaq for Ben “bad knee” Wallace and some tall white dude from Yugoslavia, basically they got Shaq for NOTHING! But let's be real, Shaq is pretty much DONE! The Cavs are known for being a defensive team and Shaq just don't do defense, Shaq is known for scoring points and he has not even been doing much of that lately.

It does help the team but the Cavs need some youth in the post, possibly a Zach Randolph maybe?

Let's just be real here, they need a new coach as well. The current coach Mike Brown, is good, but to win a ring they need better. With Mike Brown the team is cohesive, and defensive, which is great but as soon as they play a team with a decent, not great but a decent defense, he cannot draw up an offensive play to save his life.

Brown does not appear to make adjustments offensively, as he says “we just put the ball in Lebron’s hands and sit back and watch”. WHAT? You will never here something like that from Phil Jackson and he coached Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant., 2 of the best that have ever done it and he still made them function with in the offense.

Either way, this trade makes the NBA offseason a little more interesting and helps with the summer sports news which has been on life support since the NBA Finals ended. COME ON FOOTBALL SEASON!!!!

Classic Television...Hilarious

If you are anything like me, (due to my high degree of awesomeness it’s highly unlikely that you are like me) you have refused to watch the horribleness that is summer time TV! There has been one disaster after another, no real sports to watch, NOTHING!

Is the writers strike over yet, because it looks like they are just throw crap against the wall and seeing what sticks, where is the originality? Anywho…I digress, I almost turned this into another tirade…the fact that I have not watched this summer time horror movie called television I missed out on one of the best moments in television history. Below is a video of a 5 foot 9 inch 95 pound model, Joanna Krupa, doing what, Jeff Garcia, Donovan McNabb and Tony Romo couldn’t….put Terrell Owens in his place!
This is one of the most shocking and funniest things I have seen in a long time, I watched this video about 5 times, however Jeff Garcia and Donovan McNabb have watched it about 2500 times, they watch it like its NFL game footage and they have on their cell phone, their DVR, DVD, IPod shuffle, Zune, its probably looped on their TVs in the household, and Tony Romo has it as his voicemail when you call his house.

YES IT’S TIRADE TIME AGAIN!!!!

I hate this time of year!!

The NBA playoffs just ended, there are no summer Olympics, baseball is just starting, (only up to about 70 games or so with about 7461 games left so no game is even close to being important), even hockey is done.

All the decent television shows are on hiatus, we are just left with “I’m a celebrity get me out of here” and that is worst than watching white paint dry on a white wall.

I CAN NOT TAKE THIS!!!!

The only thing keeping me going right now is the fantasy football oasis in this desert of dry television. It is a looooong way off but I can see it, oh yes I can see it, its right there in front of me.

The fantasy football magazines are in the stores, the 30 minute NFL Live on ESPN are starting to peak their head out every few days, my Championship ring is in the mail on the way to its CHAMPIONSHIP owner, I can even smell the mock drafts, the trash talk is in the air….yes its right there in front of me.

One of my drafts is exactly 2 months away to the day and I am going nuts!! In one of my leagues we are even trading draft picks already. I CANNOT WAIT!!!!

Yesss…the fantasy football oasis in this desert of dry television is right there in front of me.

HOW MANY CHAINS DO YOU NEED, AND WHY ARE YOU EVEN WEARING A BELT?!?!?

I hate to see this kind of foolishness. This college educated 32 year old rapper Plies is the epitome of everything that is wrong with the music industry.

Plies only has a two Gold records and has only been in the business for 2 years, so he is definitely not rich enough to wear chains like those pictured, and own real estate and have a decent financial portfolio.

Now that we can already see the chains and other jewelry, there is only 1 of 2 ways this thing can go, here are the two scenarios, either...

1. Plies is quite shrewd, the jewelry is fake and he lives in a mansion with tons of investments that bring in good money for him a regular basis.

2. Plies has about as much sense as hard rake, those chains are real, he lives with his mother in an apartment with 4 tricked out NON-APPRECIATING cars in the parking lot.

Now I don't normally judge a book by its cover but I will today, and judging by the expensive tattoos, the 47 chains, the designer boxers, designer belt and designer jeans, I am almost certain Plies falls under the the number 2 category.

What exactly is a "PLIES" any way?

It was about the sounds that come out of the these crazy female tennis players. Well apparently is it more to this than just some loud unsexy noises, some think its cheating....really?!?!

Martina Navratilova thinks it is cheating, Serena Williams does not even know she is doing it and now there is a Portuguese teenager who appears to cry out in agony when she hits the ball.
Grunting is back on the tennis agenda at the world's most famous tournament, which starts on Monday, and the big noise at Wimbledon could be 16-year-old Michelle Larcher de Brito.
At the French Open, her opponent Aravane Rezai complained about the racket across the net, telling the umpire it was distracting her.

Unrepentant as she heads into Wimbledon's first round as a wild card, Larcher de Brito has said grunting is "just something I have done always since I started playing tennis. I am going to keep on doing it because it is really part of my game."

Nine-times Wimbledon champion Navratilova, who found the grunting of Monica Seles off-putting, feels tennis officials should take a stand.

"The grunting has reached an unacceptable level. It is cheating pure and simple and it is time for something to be done," she said at an awards ceremony in Paris earlier this month.
Jimmy Connors grunted his way to eight grand slam victories in the 1970s and 80s. Ivan Lendl complained that Andre Agassi's grunting put him off. Today female players are under the spotlight as "decibel demons."

SEX APPEAL
A lion's roar is reckoned to reach 110 decibels. Former Wimbledon champion Maria Sharapova, who says she grunted since the age of four and cannot help it, has been measured at 101.
At her pre-Wimbledon news conference on Saturday, the first question to Sharapova was about grunting.

She was asked to comment on former champion Michael Stich saying that women players should not grunt because it was not sexy and sex appeal was the main attraction of women's tennis.
"No, I don't have an opinion on that," she replied crisply.

Also probed about her grunting, which has been measured at 88.9 decibels, 10-times grand slam champion Williams said it was "definitely not conscious. Sometimes I am so zoned I don't grunt, sometimes I'm so zoned that I do grunt."

"We will be monitoring the situation. We work together with the International Tennis Federation and other grand slams on this issue," a tournament spokesman said.

The rules of the game state: "If the player is hindered on the point by a deliberate act of the opponent, the player shall win the point." Wimbledon umpires will need to decide if the player is grunting on purpose. The ball is firmly in their court.

A man in Oklahoma City said he was attacked for his bologna and cheese sandwich.

Police say 24-year-old Roger Hamilton told them he was sitting on a bus station bench Wednesday, about to put mayonnaise on his sandwich, when another man began staring at him.

Hamilton told police that the man then punched him in the mouth and grabbed his sandwich and left.

Police said Hamilton has a swollen lip and his face was covered in blood. The police report listed the value of the sandwich at 76 cents.

Police have not found the attacker.

Bliteman’s known powers are to gyrate at super speeds, while grabbing himself and “Screaming” “HE-HE” at high pitch levels. While his enemies are disoriented Bliteman then strikes with a high kick from his huge “INVINCIBLE” feet.

It is believed that his name is derived from combining the words “Black and White”. Based on the fact that his hero costume is black and white (and glittery) as well as his black and white ethnicity. Bliteman’s origin has never been confirmed, Bliteman could be a “MOONWALKER” alien or could have gained his powers from some sort of freak accidental plastic surgery, no one is sure.

None of that matters now, with so many “OFF THE WALL” things happening in the world, we need a hero and here he is to “HEAL THE WORLD”.

If you do not know this face by now, you soon will. This is Laura Izibor (born 13 May 1987) on Griffith Avenue, Dublin, Ireland, is an Irish R&B singer of Irish/Nigerian descent.

Two days ago on June 16th 2009, Laura Izibor released her debut album "Let The Truth Be Told" here in the US. Two words…INSTANT CLASSIC!

I have listened to the album about 4 times and I cannot for the life of me figure out which song I like best. All 14 (The Deluxe Version) songs are great to me, even the remix of “From my heart to yours” is awesome.

I have literally listened to this album straight through 4 times. I cannot and have not skipped or fast forwarded through any of the songs.

It is a very soulful album while at the same time it covers a broad range of sounds. There are no insinuative lyrics, just decent, passionate lyrics put to good old feel-good music with exceptional singing and Classic University is forever a fan.

As many of you have heard by now the Cleveland Browns wide receiver Donte Stallworth pleaded guilty on Tuesday to manslaughter while driving under the influence of alcohol and was sentenced to 30 days in jail for the car crash that killed a pedestrian on Miami Beach. His jail term will be followed by two years of house arrest and eight years' probation.

Stallworth might even be allowed to play football during that time, if his community control officer and the NFL allow it, because people under house arrest are usually permitted to go to work or school, a spokeswoman for the Miami-Dade County state attorney's office said.

Donte will however be using the age old ANKLE EXPRESS (that means walking for all you squares) as transportation to the stadium because his driver's license has been suspended for life. "He cannot drive ever again for any reason. That is what the (victim's) family wanted..

Oh and lets not forget the mean old judge also ordered Stallworth to pay $10,000 in fines and perform 1,000 hours of community service. Stallworth’s blood tests showed he had a blood alcohol level of 0.126, well above Florida's legal limit of 0.08, when he hit and killed 59-year-old construction worker Mario Reyes.

HOW IN THE NAME OF BATPOOP CAN HE GET 30 DAYS WHILE MIKE VICK GOT 18 MONTHS FOR BANKROLLING DOG FIGHTS!?!?!!

Vick gambled on, fought and killed DOGS did he not? Since when is a HUMAN life less important than a DOG? The justice system is a total travesty!

Stallworth’s attorney said “He acted like a man, he reported it immediately to the police through 911, he remained at the scene, he co-operated fully with the Miami Beach Police Department,". I am not real sure but I have an eerie hunch Stallworth’s lawyer may be just a little biased.

Granted Stallworth accepted full responsibility for his actions and he did appear to man up, while Mike Vick denied it to the end and pretty much said I’m Mike Vick, you cant touch me, nana na na na na!!!

But still we are talking about DOGS as apposed to a HUMAN LIFE! There are no comparisons here. I know people love their dogs but this is totally outrageous.

Do NOT get me twisted here, I cant stand either of the players and this is CLASSIC UNIVERSITY, home of the OLDSCHOOL, where players play hard and shut up harder, where hustle and elbow grease are a unit of measure, where your own father will turn you into the po-po if you do something wrong....but fair is fair and a DOG is an ANIMAL and a human is…well a HUMAN!!

That used to account for something…not anymore I guess. I am a not an old man but it used to mean something in my day.

He might be on the cusp of his 4th NBA title, but I thought this would be a great time to take a look back at the low points of Kobe Bryant's career.

5. 2004-2005 NBA Finals
The heavily favored Lakers got demolished in 5 games by the Detroit Pistons. Here's how NBA.com summarized his performance:

Despite being heavy favorites, the Lakers are manhandled by the Celtics. The series turned in Game 4 when the Celtics rallied from 24-points down to beat the Lakers in Los Angeles. Kobe reaches rock bottom when his limp Lakers lose by a record 39 points in the deciding Game 6.

With the outcome assured, Boston fans sang into the night as if they were in a pub on nearby Canal Street. They serenaded the newest champs in this city of champs, and taunted Kobe Bryant and his Lakers, who drowned in a green-and-white wave for 48 minutes.

That's my list. Arbitrary observers would have the sexual assault case #1, but to this Celtics fan, nothing will ever surpass the look on his face during Game 6.

Death of Auto-Tune!?!?

“This is anti-autotune, death of the ringtone, this ain't for itunes, this ain't for sing-along”

The first words uttered in the new song “DEATH OF AUTO-TUNE” by rapper, mogul Jay-Z, a man after my own heart. I as well very strongly dislike auto-tune! Being a fan of the Oldschool, hence the name CLASSIC UNIVERSITY, I love the times when a great voice and great music was all that counted.

Even in Oldschool hip-hop it was all about the artistry of the lyrics and the skill it took to write poetic words. Now in the auto-tune age, its about who sells the most records, who looks the best or who is the most “gansta”. I put “gansta” in quotes because 95 percent of these so called “gansta” rappers, are just acting tough, that is why they can transition into the movies business so easily

Now-a-days because of the auto-tune era we have singers who really cannot sing are selling millions of records, those “gansta” rappers who cannot really rap, are now singing over beats with auto-tune and of course, selling millions of records.

Are they creating decent music? To some degree yes, but are they staying true to the art form? Not be any stretch of the imagination.

Can you imagine Luther Vandross or Donnie Hathaway using auto-tune? Can you imagine Rakim or KRS-ONE singing melodies in a rap song? It is all about the mighty dollar.

So personally I say kill the auto-tune…murder it and reduce it to ashes!!

When Jay-Z introduced the song at the Hot 97 Summer Jam he had T-pain standing right next to him and mentioned Kanye West on the track so I am guessing they are in agreement. Mind you these 2 Kanye West and T-Pain have been auto-tunes greatest sponsor. In fact T-Pain’s whole career has been almost nothing but auto-tune, so if he is willing to grow, then the industry should be willing to do the same.

There is only fitting way to end this post is with a verse from the song, “DEATH OF AUTO-TUNE”….

A few Tuesday’s ago (May, 19th to be exact) we saw album releases from Busta Rhymes, Method Man & Redman, & of course, Eminem. This was so far the biggest release date of 2009. All three acts that I mentioned are veterans in the game and well respected by their peers. Another thing they have in common:

They’re all over the age of 30.

If you think about it, most of Hip-Hop’s elite are over the age of 30. I guess it’s no longer a young man’s game. So I was thinking, since you see a lot of lists with titles such as “25 Hottest Celebs Under 25” or “40 Richest Under 40”, why not The Best 30 Rappers Over 30?

But for this list, we got set some ground rules. #1 of course is the most obvious; you gotta be over the age of 30 (That throws out people like Weezy, Lupe, Drake, & T.I.). #2, you have to be 30 as of this list (Both The Game & Joe Budden will be 30 this year, but aren’t as of yet). #3, you got to be active and releasing records with new material that relevant (Rakim & Big Daddy Kane are legends but they don’t make this list). Danity Kane, Bad Boy’s most recently dissolved group fell prey to the curse after a short two years in the industry. The alleged “bad boy curse” dates back to Diddy’s early beginnings with the ill-fated Notorious B.I.G. Some speculate as to whether it’s really a Bad Boy curse, or simply a Diddy curse.

It’s safe to say that Bad Boy is the Bermuda triangle of the music world. Artists go in and are never to be found again. Remember Carl Thomas? Tall, handsome R & B crooner? He’s now an independent artist. Seems very weird considering that he was such a great talent. Disappointed with the direction of their career on Bad Boy, the L.O.X. fought to be released from their contract in order to join the then newly formed Ruff Ryders/ Interscope label.

Popular R&B group, Total disappeared into thin air after having a platinum album. Mark Curry, an Atlanta-based entertainer who was signed to the Bad Boy Entertainment record label from 1997 until 2005, wrote most of Diddy’s first hit singles, including “Come With Me” from the 1998 Godzilla soundtrack.

In his new book, Dancing With the Devil, Curry talks about some of Diddy’s ridiculous antics (appearances in EVERY video, being on every record). “Puff charged the artists for his appearances on their records and videos, usually without them realizing it until they discovered their paltry publishing royalty statements. This idea of an ever-looming dark cloud could really just be a man with a different plan. Executives typically follow a formula that works in their artists favor. Diddy does not. In his fight to remain a relevant brand, assuming wannabe stars are vacuum-sucked into the Bad Boy machine, drained of their talents, and spit back out once they are no longer an asset to the Sean John dynasty. French industrial and automotive designer Jonathan Mahieddine has created quite a stir on numerous popular tech-oriented websites with his Honda Fuzo, a futuristic design for a flying car.

The young, creative designer envisions the Fuzo as a lightweight and sturdy vehicle — thanks to extensive use of Kevlar, carbon fiber and carbon nanotubes — that would be capable of traveling through the air at a top speed of 350 mph, thanks to four powerful turbine engines. It would also be able to take off and land vertically, like Britain's famous Harrier jump jet and the U.S. military's own V-22 Osprey. What's more, upon landing, the Fuzo would extend its retractable wheels and tool around town like a normal automobile.

Other elements Mahieddine envisions for the Fuzo are a GPS system that not only guides the car to its predetermined destination but also communicates with other GPS-enabled vehicles for collision avoidance. Additionally, airbags would be placed both inside and outside of the vehicle to both minimize injury to its occupants and cushion the blow to pedestrians or non-GPS-equipped vehicles.

A man depressed over the debt he inherited contemplated jumping to his death for hours as he sat on the edge of a bridge in Beijing. In a surprising twist, a passerby joined him on the ledge shook his hand and pushed him off.According to the Associated Press, Chen Fuchao survived the 26 foot fall into the partially inflated air cushion the authorities laid out that Saturday afternoon. He suffered spine and elbow injuries but is expected to recover quickly.

The passerby, Lai Jiansheng, 66, was disgusted and fed up with Chen's "selfish activity" that had in and outbound traffic on the Haizhu bridge in a Southern China city of Guangzhou, backed up for more than 5 hours with police barricading the area."I pushed him off because jumpers like Chen are very selfish. Their action violates a lot of public interest," Lai said. "They do not really dare to kill themselves. Instead, they just want to raise the relevant government authorities' attention to their appeals."

Lai tried to gain clearance to talk to a suicidal Chen but his offer was denied by the police, reports Xinhua News Agency. Lai then broke through the barrier, climbed to where Chen sat, greeted him with a handshake and pushed. Photos of the incident showed a shoeless Lai saluting as Chen was falling.After Lai climbed off the bridge, he was taken into custody and released later that day.

A local Bejing Newspaper said that Lai suffered from "mental illness" for decades and was on his way to the hospital to get his medication. The paper also reported Chen wanted to commit suicide because he had accumulated $290,000 in debt from a failed construction project. He is currently recovering in a hospital.

A Taiwanese groom died on his wedding day after having too much wine and beer to drink, police and local media said Monday.

The man, 35, an insurance company worker surnamed Wu passed out at home after drinking too much Saturday at a high-end restaurant in Taipei among more than 100 wedding guests, the Liberty Times reported.

It was not known if he had health complications.
"Everyone was having a great time," said restaurant party organizer Linda Chien. "We don't know what happened after that."

Wu was hospitalized after his face turned black, the paper said. A hospital spokeswoman said he died despite treatment.

I don't know whether to laugh at this guy or to feel sorry for the bride, but I found this truly incredible! I mean was he soooo happy that he drank himself to death or was he that sad to be getting married? Either way, he no longer has to worry about any of it.

This toilet comes with pages or tabs if you will, that provides each person with their own personal toilet seat.

When it’s your turn to ummm, do your bizness, simply look for your name, lift the lid and other seats until you see your personal seat and bang…bathroom boo-boo bliss!!

Unless of course this nasty person you live with is also a jerk and they use your seat any way, in which case you have wasted your money on this seat because you could have just had a regular toilet if they are going to use your seat any…whew…let me calm down.

An Eleven-year-old Fin Keheler, from Sandy, Utah, allowed 43 of the slimy mollusks to be put on his face Saturday. He wants the Guinness World Records to verify his effort.

The Guinness web site says the record set in 2007 for snails on the face for 10 seconds is eight. The boy says he has since learned the record was 36.

Fin made three attempts on Saturday. Sitting back in a reclining chair, snails gathered from neighbors' gardens were carefully placed on his face.

Those that remained for at least 10 seconds were counted.
His family is sending witness statements, video and media coverage to Guinness this week.

The real final 4 is about to start tomorrow night! The Orlando Magic on the road against the Cleveland Cavaliers. As well as the Los Angeles Lakers at home against the Denver THUGet….I mean Nuggets. Sorry for the Freudian slip, Mark Cuban influenced me for just a second.

Here is the Classic University take on the current NBA situation, Orlando is a very deep and well coached team however Orlando does not always show up and they are very irregular at times. With attributes like these, I cannot see how they will be able to defeat the Cavs. I think Cleveland will beat Orlando in 6. I really think 5 games will do it, but these are the Conference Finals and I have to give a team more credit than that.

Orlando does not play defense well enough to stop the Cavaliers, Lebron James averages over 30 against the Magic and that is bad news. Even though I feel the Orlando Magic probably have a better team than the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Cavs are playing so well and are so focused, that I believe the Cavs win the series in 6.

Now on to the good stuff! The Denver Nuggets have been much like the Cleveland Cavaliers the entire playoffs…ON A MISSION! The Nuggets have been focused and driven and motivated to crush their opponent, not stooping to the level of their competition. That is more than I can say about Los Angeles Lakers who were taken 7 games by a Houston Rocket team that was so depleted by injuries that they actually called me last week and asked if I could play but I was busy last week.

The Rockets front office actually got upset with me, and I really think I could have contributed but my sister was getting married, you have to have priorities.

Game 7 normally is where the biggest and brightest stars shine in the NBA, but check this out…

Pau Gasol had 21 points, Trevor Ariza had 15 points, Andrew Bynum 14 points and Superstar Kobe Bryant had a whopping 14 point on 4 or 12 shooting!! Is he a role player now? Kobe Bryant scores 14 points in an elimination game 7 against Shane Battier and Laker fans are ok with this?

The Lakers are not going to have the luxury of showing up or not showing up against the Denver Nuggets. The Lakers have no answer for Chauncey Billups or Carmelo Anthony, these 2 stars will be able to score at will. That half way defense they have been playing only worked for the undersized, undermanned Houston Rockets.

Personally the Lakers do not seem hungry enough to beat Denver so I think Denver wins this series in 6 games. The Lakers are what people keep calling a “FINESSE” team, well here at Classic University “FINESSE” is kind way of saying “female”.

Finesse has no place at Classic University and no place in the playoffs. That so called “FINESSE” is why the Lakers keep appearing to not appear! Finesse, just like a female, everything has to be just right for the Lakers to play up to par. In order for the Lakers to play good basketball, the lighting in the arena has to be just right, the referees have to wear the right shoes, they have to get all the right calls, the cheerleaders have to dance just right, and the teammates have to do exactly what Kobe tells them to do.

Houston exposed the Lakers but were not deep enough to finish the job…the Denver Nuggets are that team. They will finish the Lakers in 6 games and send them back to the drawing board and I can not wait!

California News Turn to 23 reported....

"It was pretty bizarre," said neighbor Ramon Rodriguez.

Rodriguez was one of the first to discover 34-year-old Angelo Mendoza on April 28 after police said Mendoza bit an eyeball out of his 4-year-old son's face and ate it.

"The guy was crazy. Real bug-eyed; he had to be on drugs," said Rodriguez.

Court documents said neighbors checked on Mendoza's son, Angelo Jr., after they noticed the father acting nervously and fleeing from his east Bakersfield apartment in his wheelchair. Inside, they found little Angelo naked and bleeding. Police said the boy had numerous bites to his hands and his eyes were swollen shut. Doctors said the boy's left eye and muscle were completely missing. His other eye was mutilated beyond repair. The boy told them, "My daddy ate my eyes out." Rodriguez said meanwhile Mendoza approached him at a neighbor's vacant house down the street.

Rodriguez said the boy's father wheeled himself into the front yard and asked Rodriguez to play with him and a pet dog. He was wearing boxers and a sweater. When Rodriguez refused, Mendoza got off his wheelchair and dragged himself into a back yard, where he found an ax.

By then Mendoza had stripped naked. He chained himself to a tree in the back yard and began hacking at his leg with a pickax while yelling incoherently.

"He told me to look into the sun and pray with him. I was kinda scared for a minute," said Rodriguez.

Then Rodriguez jumped on Mendoza and wrestled the ax away.

"As soon as I grabbed the ax he tried to bite me, and I had to hold him down with my knee. There was dry blood around his mouth. I don't know if it was his own, but I'm pretty sure it was his son's now that I hear the story," said Rodriguez.

The police report said Mendoza appeared to be under the influence of PCP. Rodriguez said had he known about little Angelo, the outcome would have been different.

"I would've just let him cut his leg off. What happened to his son is not right. I would've left him alone," said Rodriguez.

Mendoza was arrested on charges of torture, aggravated mayhem, and cruelty to a child. The toddler is now in the custody of Child Protective Services. Mendoza is due in court May 20. His bail is set at $1 million.

I do not know why they call PCP "angel dust" because there is nothing angelic about it! Demon Dust is more like it! This is horrible! There is only one person that can fully repair that boys life.

ABC NEWS REPORTED...

All Paulo Serodio did was answer a question about his cultural heritage honestly.

The Mozambique native told classmates at a New Jersey medical school he was a white African-American.

Now Serodio is suing, saying the harassment and suspension he suffered cost him two years of his life and has all but destroyed his dreams of a medical career.

The lawsuit filed Monday calls for Serodio's reinstatement at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, plus monetary damages from the Newark-based school.

The controversial question came during a March 2006 clinical skills course.
Another student was offended by Serodio's answer and he was summoned to the professor's office.

There, he was told to never define himself as African-American, despite being a third-generation African. The lawsuit says he began to be harassed by other students, who sought disciplinary action against him.

"I wouldn't wish this to my worst enemy," he said. "I'm not exaggerating. This has destroyed my life, my career."

Serodio eventually found himself suspended from the school just before pivotal second-year exams and couldn't even transfer to another medical school.
The lawsuit asks Serodio also be allowed to take his board exams and for an acknowledgement that the school discriminated.

Serodio said “This has destroyed my life “and all he did was SAY he was an African American, imagine how hard it is being an African American!

I think the label “African American” is totally ridiculous anyway. To say that a black person born in America is an African American is tantamount to a slap in the face!

What do you call a white person born in America? An American right? White people came to this country as well, so how 2 babies born in the same American hospital on America soil can be classified as 2 different things? If this is the case the real Americans are Indians.

It is insulting to call black people born in America “African Americans”, it implies that every one in and from Africa is black and guess what…THERE ARE WHITE PEOPLE IN AFRICA TOO!!!

A person (white or black) born in Africa who decided they wanted to live in America and become a citizen, once they are a citizen, they are called an African American. So why a black child born in America would be called the same thing is beyond me!

I was flipping through the channels the other night and I came across the original 50 cent hit “In da Club”.

While this was and is a great song, unbeknownst to myself and those who loved it, it was the beginning of an era that I despise. The era of the song about the CLUB!!!!!!

If you were to listen to a hip-hop/R&B radio station for any significant length of time these days you are going to hear a song about either the club, what goes on in the club or the notorious V.I.P.

Due to the popularity of the songs about the Club, many new artist have to have a club song, and some artist are making their first single a song about the club, as a result the radio waves are flooded with this nonsense.

Granted, some of these songs are made “FOR” the club and to get you up and dancing, however the same goal can be accomplished with plain old original music, there is no need to focus so heavily on the actual club.

Just to illustrate my point, check out a few of these recent hit songs…

Usher – Love in this club
Plies – I am the club
Beanie Sigel – In the Club
Young Jeezy – In this club
Lil john – In da club
R. Kelly – Freaky in the club

These are just songs with “CLUB” in the title. I went to a hip-hop lyric site and searched for “club” and almost 1,800 songs came up, how ridiculous is that? Where is the originality? Is that a thing of the past?

Does this mean that if I am new artist, when making my album, all I need to do is make a song about the club, a “murder” song, another club song, a “how rich I am” song, oh and one more club song for good measure?

This club trend is even bleeding significantly over in to R & B, one of the biggest hits of 2008 was Ushers song “Love in this Club”, where he talks about actually having sex in the club right in front every one. WOOOOOOW! Whatever happened to hotels and parking lots? LOL!

Marques Houston had a song a few years ago called “Clubbin”. The song was a hit and it was produced by the 50 year old teenager and club king, R. Kelly, who in turn made the above song “Freaky in the club” and his hit “I’m a flirt” was all about the club as well. And who was featured on that song with R. Kelly? T-Pain....and in case you didn’t know, T-Pain apparently LIVES in the club, because most of his hits are about, guess what subject?

Remember T-pain’s hit song “Bartender”, guess where they work, CLUBS. How about the song “Buy you a drank”, I am not sure what a “DRANK” is but drinks are made by whom? BARTENDERS and once again, where do they work? CLUBS!!!! Oh and don’t forget the hit song “I’m N Luv wit a stripper”, just so happens strippers work in strip CLUBS, which is where bartenders serve drinks and strippers strip!! Go figure!

T-pain also helped produce “Blame it” one of the hottest songs on the radio right now…Now boys and girls, can you guess what that song is about? THE STINKING CLUB!!!

Music is at an all time low right now because as soon as someone comes out with a hit song, no matter what it is or what it is about every one has to copy it. No originality and no artistry needed, just check the top of the music charts, then copy and paste.

We here at Classic University are saddened and depressed by this state of affairs and we are about cut out early and go to the Club and get a drank!

The soul singer says he's actually insecure — so a concert tour last fall helped boost his confidence about releasing a new album."Just the encouragement, you can't imagine," Maxwell said at a reception Tuesday. "I'm an insecure person at best. ... I feel like going on the road, I got so much inspiration.".

On the other hand…Maxwell says "The way I make good music, it's not about what's expected of me," he said recently after a Manhattan reception for his upcoming CD. "It's hard to make good music when you're thinking about what somebody wants you to do." So he didn't think about what the fans or his record label wanted. As we say in the 'hood, Max did him. It's been eight years since he released his last album.

"It was a lot easier than I thought it would be," he said about his prolonged vacation. "It was a lot easier than I thought it was to enjoy. [My career] started when I was 21. I don't want to complain about my life, because I don't want to sound crazy to a person that's living a life. I've been blessed. But the common things people take for granted, I never had for a long stretch, such as riding on the train."

"I feel like I've relished these few years, where I got to kick it, where I got to meet girls who didn't know who I was, where they would be like, 'What's your name?' " he said. "Knowing you're appreciated for you as a person was something that was very easy to be into for a while. “
"What tends to happen when records are coming out and all the things that come around you, you're never sure [how genuine people are]," he added. "I'm very insecure, and I want to know people appreciate real things. You want to know somebody's around you not because of what you could offer or who you are."

Maxwell, through the inspiration of his fans, seems to have put his insecurities aside for now. His new work of art BLACKsummers'night, due to be released July 7 and marks Maxwell's first album in almost 8 years, is a nine-track Columbia Records set, the first installment of a planned trilogy, was recorded with a ten-piece band. The first single, the lullaby-like "Pretty Wings," was released Tuesday. The second and third parts of the Trilogy are supposed to be released in 2010 and 2011, respectively.

The single “Pretty Wings” made the highest debut in four years at Billboard’s Adult R&B chart where it landed at no.15 this week. But that is not the only chart victory for Maxwell. The former “Fortunate” singer leaped up to no.22 on the Hot R&B/Hip Hop songs chart which also scored him the best debut by a male artist in a year.

When asked what kind of reception he expected for the album, he said: "I try not to live by expectations. "If you just do it with love, the rest will be taken care of."

"I wanted to be like, 'I like how this sounds,' " he said of his pressure-free recording process this time around." 'I don't care if people buy it or not. It makes me feel good.' "

I really like what he is saying here, it seems that Maxwell is so real as a person that the fame and celebrity actually stalled his career. As a fan, I am glad he is back making great music, but as a human being, it sickens me that he has to go through this just to do what he loves. Do you Maxwell!

Police said an 11-year-old girl threatened her 7-year-old sister with a gun to force the younger child to play with her on Monday at her grandmother's residence. Police said the girl also pointed the .38-caliber pistol at her grandmother.

The child surrendered the gun after the grandmother made several demands for it.The weapon wasn't loaded but police believe the girl didn't know that.

Police said the two girls argued and the 11-year-old then retrieved the gun from her grandmother's bedroom. She was being held at a juvenile detention center on charges of brandishing a weapon and domestic assault.

Ok first of all, are you that horrible of a child that you need a gun to make your own sister play with you? Second, this kid actually pointed the gun at her grandmother?

I would not be here to write these words if had even went in my grandmother's room wtithout her permission, much less point a 38 pistol at her. My grandmother would have whupped me with her antique coffee table if I even thought about going into to her bedroom to take ANYTHING!!! Not to mention the whuppin my father would have given me after my grandmother told him why she beat me into the Intensive Care Unit.

Let me set the scene for you…about 4 weeks after my grandma beat me with the coffee table, I wake up in the ICU. The doctor releases me a week later, and on said release day, my father says to the doctor, “don’t make that bed up just yet” and proceeds to give me the whuppin of a lifetime and I am able to keep the same room in the ICU!

Not only do I get to miss 2 months of school, in the end, I would be a better person for it….that is if I didn’t suffer any real brain damage and if could retain the use of my butt and limbs.
